Colbert versus The Woz

September 29th, 2006 at 12:12:39 AM

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, appeared on The Colbert Report tonight. After some playful banter about podcasts, they tried to speak about Wozniak's new book iWoz but got sidetracked by the Woz's inability to have a serious conversation. I'll bet that Comedy Central is sad they had him on tonight. Anyway, Colbert couldn't get a good joke in edgewise due to Wozniak making an ass of himself which made the whole thing rather boring. After a 10 minute interview, I think that I'm no more enlightened and am in fact angered that Steve Wozniak isn't good in person at all.

James Bond switches to poker

September 28th, 2006 at 06:47:57 AM

It seems that in the upcoming film Casino Royale, Bond will be playing poker. Why does this matter, you ask? Well, because Bond has always played baccarat and after 20 films, they're making the switch to poker, perhaps to help the Americans relate more to the character. I think baccarat is much more classy and the switch may be related to the recent poker craze. Whatever the reason, it'll be interesting to see if Bond is as good at poker as he was at baccarat, and seeing as this was written as a prequel, maybe he'll give up poker for baccarat to tie into the rest of the series.

Post Robbery Instructions

September 27th, 2006 at 03:04:14 PM
I was at the bank, making a deposit, when I noticed a pink-covered packet behind the teller. The packet had 3 words in big, black letters: Post robbery instructions. Now, I'm no genius, and I'm no bank expert, but shouldn't they hide those sorts of things from could-be robbers? I know that if I robbed a bank and I saw that packet, I'd take it with me. I'd think that all you'd need to do post robbery is call the cops, write down everything you remember ASAP, and wait for the cops to arrive. Seems silly to dedicate a packet to an event that will likely never happen.

Why I hate IE

September 27th, 2006 at 01:51:22 AM

This is why I hate Internet Explorer. This sites looks great in every browser except IE. IE ignors all the magic, all the glamor, and just makes it look ugly. Why won't IE just play nice? What's wrong with you Microsoft? Make a product that not only works, but follows the standards as if they are rules.

Browsershots

September 27th, 2006 at 01:28:44 AM
Ever wonder what your website looks like on a computer or browser that you don't have? Are IE bugs killing you even though you don't have a PC? There's an easier way to see what your site will look like than calling your buddy and asking him to load up your site. Enter Browsershots. Browsershots lets you look at your site from the views of a handful of browsers on Windows, Linux, and OS X. Debugging may be a pain, but now you won't be completely blind.

Narcissistic? Perhaps.

September 27th, 2006 at 12:23:39 AM
'Unbiased Bias' is perhaps a contradiction of terms. First, I'd like to say that I am biased and that my bias isn't specific to any one line fo thinking. I'm shamelessly conservative and usually rational, two things that you might think don't mix. I like to share my opinion and am not intimidated by being wrong (although that will never happen). In general, I write about tech/science news, but sometimes politics slips through. Sometimes stories of stupid people catch my eye and I want to point and laugh, and when I do, I want you to be able to join me. My goal isn't to enlighten or convert anyone, it is simply to state my mind and maybe make a few jokes along the way. So enjoy, and welcome to Unbiased Bias.
